Stamped Washi Tape + Mini Album

Hey everyone, Katie here! This is my last post as part of the Paper Wings team. I'll definitely miss you guys, but hopefully I'll be able to guest post sometime in the future!

Today I wanted to share with you this mini album I made. I wanted to embellish it with some scalloped washi tape I had (by Hazel and Ruby) but I decided the tapes were a bit plain and so I grabbed my stamps and embellished them!

I used the Earth and Sky Melange stamp set with stazon inks.

I also use the Funky Lowercase alphabet as well!

Thanks for the wonderful opportunity to design for Paper Wings Productions!

Altered Art Journal

Hi! Dana here today sharing a journal that I altered for a friend who just gave birth to her first child, a sweet baby girl. I was asked to put together a book by her mother, something that was colorful, a bit non-traditional and totally unique, that this new mother could use to document the special moments that she shares with her child.

I had a blast creating this project with a little help from Carrie, owner of Paper Wings Productions. If you've been following Paper Wings for a while you know that in addition to running Paper Wings, Carrie also teaches classes, many of which include book binding techniques. (If you live in the San Antonio, Texas area you should definitely try to catch one!) Carrie created this 5x7 journal for me. You can find more of her journals in her Etsy Shop from time to time.

The pages of this journal are made from beautiful thick watercolor paper. I wanted to leave room for journaling, so I used mist, washi tape, stencils and my favorite Paper Wings Productions stamps to add color and patterns to the edges of each page.

I used my favorite Perfect Alphabet Stamp Set on the first and last page of the album to start a letter that the new mother can write to her daughter, one letter at the begging of the book and one letter at the end.

I'm so happy with how this journal turned out!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you!

Stamped Fabric Tutorial

Hey everyone, Katie here! Today I wanted to share with you this stamped fabric I made! I made a bunch of hand printed fabrics like this for my Mom for Christmas (she's a quilter!) and they turned out so awesome, I wanted to show you how I made them.

I used the Tea time stamp set and the Play with your Coffee stamp set to create this tea themed fabric.

You'll need fabric paint (or a good ink that is permanent on fabric), a stamp, acrylic block and a palette.

1. Spread out a little fabric paint onto your palette and press your stamp into it like you would an ink pad.

2. Stamp your design onto your fabric just like you would paper!

I started by stamping my largest stamp (the big teacup) a few times around my fabric, and then filling the blank areas in with smaller stamps.

Thanks for stopping by, remember- let your creativity take flight!

Geishas with Fans Card by Dana Tatar

Hi Paper Wings fans! Dana here today sharing a card. I was inspired to create this card by the gorgeous yuzen patterned papers from the Natural Nesting Components Kit. I paired the beautiful papers with a gold-matted stamped image made with the Geishas with Fans Cling Stamp. I finished this simple card with a sentiment sticker and a Hand-Dyed Ribbon bow.

Be sure to check back here on Friday for our Winter Challenge. Thanks for stopping by today!
